Nov 13th – 16th 2014

The Queen’s Finance Association Conference is an event like none other; it is Canada’s first student-run conference entirely focused on the finance industry and financial markets. Conceived by students in the Queen’s School of Business who were eager to explore the industry beyond financial theories taught within the classroom, the conference provides students with the unique opportunity to network with professionals and explore the wide variety of finance related careers. QFAC’s mission is to provide students with a practical knowledge of finance and to facilitate their transition into careers within the industry.

This will be the eighth conference that QFAC has hosted. After a tremendously successful event in 2013, QFAC 2014 will once again take place at the Fairmont Royal York, in the heart of Toronto’s financial district. One hundred pre-screened undergraduate students will attend the conference from top universities across the country, all sharing a passion for finance. Over the course of four days during November, QFAC 2014 will feature keynote addresses, interactive workshops, and an exciting and dynamic M&A simulation in addition to luncheons, dinners, and evening social events. Inaugurated in 2012, QFAC 2014 will be hosting the 3rd annual stock pitch competition, in which the finalists will be invited to New York City to present their pitch to industry professionals. Ultimately, the conference achieves its three main goals of providing summer and full-time recruitment opportunities, practical finance education, and networking opportunities with both Bay Street and Wall Street professionals.
